We are delighted to announce that Anakie Community House has received a Community Investment Program Grant from Community Bank Lara District to support the next phase of our garden project.
This funding will allow us to install new picnic tables, seating, and a community BBQ, creating a welcoming outdoor space for workshops, gatherings, and social connection.
Following the successful completion of Phase 1—funded through the Victorian State Government’s Tiny Towns program—which delivered new landscaping and drought-tolerant native plantings, we are now developing a community edible garden.
The garden will include wicking beds, a potting table, and a greenhouse (generously donated by Warralily Community Garden), providing opportunities for people to learn gardening skills, grow fresh produce, and connect with others.
These additions will help create a vibrant, inclusive community space that promotes sustainability, wellbeing, and social connection.
